RIGF 2016 unveils its program
RIGF 2016 will be held on April 7, 2016
On April 7, 2016, Moscow will host the 7th Russian Internet Governance Forum (RIGF-2016). This year’s forum will look into the potential for a global consensus in the field of internet governance.
The RIGF-2016 event program is available on the forum’s website. Below are the topics for discussion:
- How to make critical internet infrastructure more stable?
- Is there a “universal formula” for global internet governance?
- How to promote constructive dialogue between governments and international organizations?
- What will encourage further growth of the internet?
- The trans-border nature of the internet, is it a benefit or a problem?
RIGF 2016 speakers will include prominent Russian and foreign internet experts, representatives of government and public organizations and top managers from major IT companies, among them Chris Buckridge (RIPE NCC), Lyudmila Bokova (Federation Council of the Russian Federation), Yelena Voronina (MSK-IX), Oleg Demidov (PIR-Center), Frederic Donck (ISOC), William J. Drake (University of Zurich), Wolfgang Kleinwaechter (University of Aarhus, Denmark), Leonid Levin (State Duma of the Russian Federation), Dmitry Marinichev (RadiusGroup), Maarit Palovirta (ISOC), Leonid Todorov (APTLD), Liyun Han (CNNIC), Robert Shlegel (State Duma of the Russian Federation), Mikhail Yakushev (ICANN), and many others.
RIGF 2016 will take place at the Lotte Hotel, Moscow, on April 7, 2016. The event is organized by the Coordination Center for TDL RU in cooperation with ICANN, RIPE NCC, Kaspersky Laboratory, APTLD, the Regional Public Center of Internet Technologies (ROTsIT), the Institute of Internet Development, and the Russian Association for Electronic Communications (RAEC).
